Hi I’m Francesca,
I’m the Resources coordinator. I have been in guiding since I was a Brownie in and I now run my own Brownie unit in Jersey. Outside of guiding I am an Optical Consultant in Boots Opticians.
To date my mountain top moment in guiding has to be either going Inter-railing around Europe for the Senior Section Centenary with 16 other members of the Senior Section from all across South West Region or Representing Girlguiding Jersey at Buckingham Palace at one of the Queen’s Garden Parties.
I’m really excited about GOLD to Rwanda for a number of reasons. I will see first-hand how Girlguiding is truly one big family across the world and seeing how guiding varies across the world. I’m also looking forward to refining many life skills such as leading large training sessions and how to adapt quickly for when things don’t run according to the plans that you have.
My random fact is that I’ve run a Brownie Unit since the age of 20 and my favourite sweet is fudge.
